TO THE FICTIONS PAGE!
These short pieces were written to be performed at open readings and promotional events.
All of them have been performed at various poetry and fiction venues in the San Francisco
Bay Area. For a while I have not had the time to do public readings, so in an effort to
prevent these from languishing in the drawer with old apple cores and pencil shavings, I
put them here.
There was an awful lot of self-concerned and highly serious crap going around the circuit, not to mention sheer unwarranted obnoxiousness, so these were written with a mind toward shunting poetry and prose away from the kind of earnest, self-involved, and spirit-killing claptrap lampooned in the movie "I Married an Ax Murderer."
